Google Analytics Goals

http://www.searchengineguid…

Setting goals with Google Analytics just got easier as one the popular online tools will now allow business owners to set as many as 20 business goals for a web-site. Before the change was made, users of Google Analytics could only set four goals at a time and would have to make multiple profiles to go beyond that number. With the improvement, setting up multiple profiles can still be done, however, it is not necessary to set all of your goals.

In addition to allowing business owners the capability to set more goals, Google Anayltics also launched Traakboard, which is a desktop application for analysts to pull information from different Google Analytics profiles and logins. The application can be used for multiple accounts and profiles and has a report widget. The report widget can be programmed to fetch data at certain times of the day, week or month, which reduces time in getting important data.

Analytics Intelligence was also added to allow users and analysts to find specific data in a more timely fashion.  Instead of having to go through piles and piles of information, analysts can search specifically for the information they will need to make a strategic decision. Analytics Intelligence also monitors web-site traffic on a 24/7 basis and will add any important or significant changes in the Intelligence Reports. Any significant changes will have an alert for the business owner and can be accessed daily, weekly or even monthly.

Since its launch a few years ago, Google Analytics has helped business owners track important web-site visitor information. The online tool tracks visitors coming from search engines, pay-per-click advertising, display ads, PDF documents and other forms of online marketing. The tool has also been useful for developing reports and alerting users of significant changes in data.

Will Google ever provide statistics on browser market share?

Ian M in the United Kingdom asks:

“Will Google ever provide statistics on browser/OS market share, like NetApplications/StatCounter/etc.? You’ve got one of the biggest (the biggest?) data sets in existence, so your stats would be much more reliable.”

This video is part of a “Grab Bag” series in which Matt Cutts, head of Google’s webspam team, answers questions from webmasters. We’re not currently taking new video questions, so your best bet for getting an answer about webmaster-related search issues is to head to our help forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p…

Case Study – Domain names, social media, email and much more

This entry is part 3 of 26 in the series SEO Course

One of the things I want to do in the private section of WebMarketingWatch.com is case studies.

I got the chance to do our first case study with Greg Drambour.

These are a few of a the places you can find him online:

Greg had some questions about whether or not he should promote his ebook on a new domain or if he should continue doing what he is currently doing.

I anticipated that was going to be the majority of the conversation. But as things unfolded, we began talking about many different topics:

  • The effectiveness of social media in getting people to purchase.
  • How to do key phrase research and determine which key phrases to pursue.
  • Usability and how it pertains to getting people to do what you want them to do.
  • The power of email marketing.
  • Statistical analysis and Google Analytics
  • Google Webmaster Tools

The conversation had a lot of really interesting topics. On top of that, these are topics that come up over and over again. So, I’m sure you will find many of these items interesting for your situation.

This is just over an hour.

These kinds of conversations rarely are had in the open. It’s a unique opportunity to see a private consultation first hand.

Remember, as a member of WebMarketingWatch.com, you have the opportunity to get these kinds of complimentary consultations. Just ask me.
