Sage talks about Google’s expansion of their Beta version of “Automatic Matching” for Google AdWords and brings to light SEMPO’s latest survey about online advertising. The survey found that 57% of online advertisers would rather target age and gender specific demographics with their campaigns. Ask.com becomes the ninth largest web property in the world with their acquisition of Dictionary.com, and yes, you, I said you, can work for Barack Obama. According to the job posting on Search Engine Watch, Obama is looking for internet experts to help him with his campaign.

This week we are going to look at the top 5 presidential candidate web sites:

Mitt Romney
Hillary Clinton
John Edwards
Barack Obama
Rudy Giuliani

These 5 sites are under incredible pressure to perform at their absolute best. We can learn a lot from them from a web marketing perspective.

I decided it would be good to review these this week because the financial data came out telling us what each candidate brought in from April to June of 2007. This is the rundown:
Obama: $33 million
Clinton: $27 million
Edwards: $8.9 million
Giulliani: $17.3 million
Romney: $13.8 million

What: I discuss subscribing to RSS feeds at BarackObama.com in Internet Explorer 7, Google Personalized Home Page and My Yahoo. Once you get the hang of using RSS feeds to monitor your news they will save you a tremendous amount of time and make you more organized.

Who: Sage Lewis

Where: This was shot at our office in Akron Ohio.

When: February 20, 2007

Why: I was at an Obama event this weekend. When the topic of RSS came up no one admitted to knowing about how to use RSS to monitor news. I am a huge RSS advocate. RSS will make your life so much more efficient. You can apply the knowledge in this video to RSS feeds on any site that has them.

How: I shot this with my mini DV Panasonic video camera. I had 1000 watts of light on both my left and my right plus some fill lights.
