Matt Cutts Explains Caffeine Update
Google recently announced that it has been working on a project called Caffeine. Caffeine will essentially re-write the architecture for Googles Web search. As Matt Cutts shares exclusively with WebProNews, Caffeine is comparable to the Big Daddy Update back in 2006, which consisted of changes to the way Google crawls and indexes websites.
This, as Matt describes, a big, fundamental change to how Google indexes sites. He says that they are trying to make the results not look much different than existing results.
This is still a test. But it likely will be spreading throughout all of Google results primarily.
"Double down on innovation" is a quote from Matt in this video. I really believe that is the secret sauce of what makes Google so dominant.
Caffeine should help Google expand the reach and capability to unlock a lot more power for what the future holds in Google.
