July 7, 2008 – 11:48 amSage gives credit to Skitzzo of SEO Refugee, who writes “An Open Letter to SEO Bloggers: Back up Your Statements!” In the letter, Skitzzo expresses his frustration with SEO bloggers for stating theories and opinions as facts without any supporting evidence. Sage supports the call to legitimize SEO and create some sort of standards for the industry. The letter ends with the following statement: “If our industry ever wants to fully shed the reputation of snake oil salesmen, I believe we’re going to have to start putting some serious data, testing, and documented experience behind what we claim as fact.”
