I recently uncovered some amateur spam in a free template my friend downloaded for her web site. This kind of thing could cause you a lot of trouble in the search engines.

You need to be aware of this because the search engines hold you responsible for everything on your site.

If you are violating their terms regardless of whether you know it or not, they could pull your entire site from their index.
