What: I'm thinking about Friday being commentary day where I share my opinion on something that is going on in the web marketing world. This is what I've been thinking about social marketing.
Where: This was shot at our office in Akron Ohio.
When: January 19, 2007
Why: This whole social marketing thing is like a raging virus. It reminds of Ebola... a hot, raging disease that will likely burn out before the end of the year. The concept is fine. However, it's put in the hands of people that often care more about their campaign than the people they are manipulating. The lack of genuine care for the people being socially marketed to will be the death of this concept.
How: I shot this with my mini DV Panasonic video camera. I had 1000 watts of light on both my left and my right plus some fill lights.

1. Legalized Stealing?! That's harsh.
nullWow, marketing = legalized stealing!null You must have had a bad day... or got involved with some bad marketing folks.
I have to disagree with you. There aren't THAT MANY snakes in the grass.
Ethics in marketing is a huge issue, but I think to lump all marketers together under one big, bad umbrella is unfair. In my 25 years of experience in marketing, I've found that most marketers are ethical... but one sleazy marketer is like a bad banana, stinking up the whole room.
Give us a real examples. Too much generalization. Maybe I'm too naive, but I think you're being too cynical in this vlog.
